We're here to help during this crisis. Our overnight homeless shelter and food services are still open during this time. If you come to The Hope Center for assistance we do ask that you use the provided hand sanitizer and follow all health criteria to keep yourself and others safe. Failure to abide by rules established to protect others during the COVID-19 outbreak could result in expulsion from the property. We're all in this together.
We will continue to update this page with any new information about how we're responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. To talk to someone immediately please call 301.739.1165.
We understand that this is a very unnerving and uncertain time that we are living in . But we've got a God who is aware of our crisis and there for us in this time of need. If you are frightened during this time and would like to pray with someone please give us a call so that we can pray with you. Just remember that our God is infinitely stronger than our fear and this virus.
When the news and updates seem to be too much to handle please claim this verse:
"So do not fear,
for I am with you;
do not be dismayed,
for I am your God.
I will strengthen you
and help you;
I will uphold you with
my righteous right hand."

While we've cancelled many of our non-essential programs & activities, we still are open to help the homeless and hungry in our area. We need volunteers to help in many different ways around The Hope Center. Volunteers also help offset the budgetary issues we're now facing with the indefinite closure of our Thrift Stores. If you are healthy and able to give some time to help us please email us or call us immediately (contact info below).
Since safety is a top priority during this time we do ask that those who are ages 65+ or have medical conditions that put you at a higher risk refrain from volunteering. Please help us in other ways by praying, donating financially or with food, and by telling others of our needs.
Since our Hagerstown Thrift Store is closed for the unforeseeable future we are currently not able to honor vouchers.
We are working to figure out how to appropriately handle this situation. If you are in desperate need of clothing please visit our Administrative Office (hours listed below) or call us immediately to see what your options are.
If you have a voucher that wasn't used or you'd like more info about the program during this crisis please call Michelle at 301.739.1165 and she will try to assist you as much as possible as we figure out what the next steps are. We cannot guarantee anything as this is a fluid situation.
