Foundations Life Recovery is our 13-month residential program intended to break the cycle of homelessness and addictions. It encourages individual accountability and responsibility using a Biblically-based class curriculum, work assignments, and counseling. The desired goal for each man is to complete this program and become a contributing member of society. Foundations Life Recovery is based on I Corinthians 3:11, “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Foundations Principles

Our program curriculum is based on the following five Biblical principles:

  1. I Need Change – The resident must demonstrate that he is willing to allow a change in his life – whatever that may be, whatever God may reveal to make him more like Christ – allowing the Lord to tear down all the old and build up the new life. “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.” Psalm 127:1a.

  2. Inspired to grow in God – Residents must show a desire to grow (mature) in Jesus Christ and understand how to go about that process. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” Matthew 6:33; “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the Word that you may grow thereby” I Peter 2:2.

  3. Accountability – A resident must understand and show that he will hold himself accountable to God’s standards, not his own. “Therefore brethren, we are debtors [we have an obligation], not to the sinful nature [the flesh], to live according to it. For if you live according to the sinful nature [the flesh] you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live” Romans 8:12.

  4. Transformed by God – Each resident is expected to live a continually transformed life to be more like Jesus Christ. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind …” Romans 12:2.

  5. Live for God’s glory – Each man is challenged to live daily for God’s glory by yielding their life to God’s will and showing the world, by their love, that they are a follower of Christ. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service” Romans 12:1. “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” John 13:35.
